Albany History Day: The Throop Pharmacy Museum is an active participant in Albany History Day. The Museum hosts a booth to display pharmacy artifacts, answer questions and demonstrate pill-rolling techniques. The event, sponsored by Historic Cherry Hill, is held annually in May. In previous years is has been held at the New York State Museum (2000) and at Quackenbush Square (2001). (view photo)
Ten Broeck Mansion: The Throop Pharmacy Museum has loaned several pharmacy artifacts to the Albany County Historical Association to create a display at the Ten Broeck Mansion. The display titled "19th Century Medicines" will be on exhibit from September 15 until December 31, 2001. (view photo) Albany International Airport: The Throop Pharmacy Museum was invited to create an exhibit at the Albany International Airport. The exhibit highlights the history of the Throop Drugstore and the practice of pharmacy in the United States during the 19th century. A series of five display cases feature collections from the Museum including poison bottles, patent medicines, herbal preparations, pill and cachet machines. (view photo) Grand Reopening: The Throop Pharmacy Museum held a reopening ceremony on September 22, 2001 during Parent's Weekend. A descendant of the Throop Family has been invited to officially cut the ribbon. Highlights of the event will include tours of the Museum and demonstrations of compounding techniques.
